How To Install Carpet Stair Treads Quickly and Easily

Further improve the project by painting the stairs ahead of time for a nice finished look. Using the every other step method while painting, you give yourself a means of still getting up and down the stairs during the paint process. I always recommend using a primer first, or a primer and paint in one even works better.

If you decide to paint the stairs first, I also recommend using some lightweight Spackle to fill in the holes and cracks ahead of time for a more flush look after painting. Spackle can be found at most hardware stores, or you can also find it here: https://amzn.to/2BSHaod
